Privacy Policy

Agent Governance Foundation ("AGF", "we", "us") is an open project. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use https://agentgovernancefoundation.com, why we collect it, and your rights over it.

1. What we collect

Contact form — When you send us a message via the About page, we collect your name, email address, and message content. This is transmitted via Resend (resend.com) and delivered to our inbox. We do not store it in a database.

Mailing list — When you subscribe for updates, we collect your email address. This is stored in Netlify Forms. We use it only to send project updates and announcements.

Analytics — We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate site traffic. It only activates if you accept cookies in the banner shown on your first visit. Until you accept, tracking-related storage (analytics and advertising) is set to denied by default (Google Consent Mode v2), and no analytics events are sent.

Server logs — Our hosting provider (Netlify/Vercel) may automatically log IP addresses, browser user agents, and request timestamps as part of normal infrastructure operation. We do not access or analyse these logs for marketing purposes.

2. How we use it

  • To respond to your contact form messages
  • To send project updates to mailing list subscribers
  • To understand aggregate site traffic, only if you accept cookies (via Google Analytics)
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing
  • We do not use your data for automated profiling or decision-making

3. Legal basis (GDPR / India DPDP Act)

For users in the European Union, we rely on legitimate interests (responding to your message, operating the site) and consent (mailing list subscription) as our legal bases under GDPR.

For users in India, we comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). You have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data by contacting us.

4. Data retention

Contact form messages are retained in our inbox until deleted manually. We review and purge old messages periodically.

Mailing list email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Every update email includes an unsubscribe link.

  • Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Unsubscribe — opt out of the mailing list at any time

7. Cookies & consent

On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept optional analytics cookies. If you decline, or make no choice, analytics and advertising storage stay set to denied (Google Consent Mode v2 default) — no tracking cookies are set. Strictly necessary cookies, if any, set by the hosting infrastructure are unaffected by this choice and are always active.

Accepting enables Google Analytics to record aggregate traffic (page views, referrers).

You can withdraw consent at any time — this takes effect immediately for all future page views (it does not retroactively delete data already sent to a tag before withdrawal).

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the project evolves. Material changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.

9. The AGF platform

Creating an account on the AGF platform ( https://app.agentgovernancefoundation.com) — including agent registration, delegation, and subscription billing — is governed by the platform's own Privacy Policy, not this one.
